Nearly A Decade On-Air
Through three stops in my television career so far, I have gained a wide range of experience in every corner of the newsroom. While I specialize in providing a forecast and tracking severe weather, I am able to shoot, edit, and write packages. I have extensive experience reporting live from the scene of breaking news and weather. Having worked on the morning shift for half of my career, I have had many opportunities to report live feature stories. From riding the latest roller coaster to showing off a new nature exhibit, I can turn any community activity into a compelling live shot. I earned Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation number 735 from the American Meteorological Society in June 2016. I, along with my evening news colleagues, won “Best Newscast in Ohio” in August 2019 from the Society of Professional Journalists for severe weather and tornado coverage on April 3rd, 2018.
Dayton 24/7 Now (ABC 22 and FOX 45)
Meteorologist and Reporter
2015 - 2020- Prepared and presented a weather forecast for the Dayton 24/7 Now (ABC 22 and FOX 45) weekend evening and weekday morning newscasts.
- Provided live severe weather alerts using mobile warning notifications and on-air coverage, often in the field.
- Had an engaging social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using personal and station profiles
- Helped edit and shoot weather and news packages when needed, then update all content to the station website.
- Hosted morning show segments geared toward highlighting newsmakers and local businesses.
- Visited schools and helped with community outreach to educate people of all ages about proper weather and disaster safety.
WFMJ Television

2013 - 2015- Created presentations for 6 p.m. and 11p.m. newscasts.
- Monitored current weather conditions and provided live coverage of severe/winter weather.
- Filled in and collaborated with meteorologists on all other shifts when needed, including severe weather live shots and reporting.
- Kept social media followers updated with current weather data and interesting facts via Twitter and Facebook.
WMFD Television

2012 - 2013- Prepared and presented live forecasts for the station’s afternoon and evening weekday newscasts.
- Developed minute-by-minute updates on-air during severe convective and winter weather.
- Created and delivered morning, afternoon, evening and overnight forecasts for WMFD’s three sister radio stations.
- Anchored news, feature stories and in-house local TV programs when needed.
- Visited schools to educate children about weather safety, as well as other public appearances.

Summer 2011- Updated the station’s weather webpage daily with accurate forecast information, including my own forecasts.
- Assisted with broadcast preparation, including updating/creating weather graphics and retrieving weather information.
- Tracked weather observations during severe weather events.
- Developed keen forecasting skills through nightly assignments using all available model data.
